The Centre for Sustainable Development is a comprehensive project that integrates environmental, social, and economic components.
Environmental component
By giving priority to innovative ecological technologies and approaches, the project will minimize the building’s environmental footprint while promoting the integration of environmental aspects in the design and renovation of buildings in Québec.
Social component
The Centre for Sustainable Development will offer a place to meet and exchange ideas, not only among the organizations housed there but also with the public. Its public forum space, located at the heart of the building, will serve mainly as a tool for promoting and communicating sustainable development to the public.
Economic component
The nine member organizations of the Centre for Sustainable Development will be co-owners of the building. This will help strengthen the economic viability and increase the longevity of these non-profit organizations committed to sustainable development. The Centre for Sustainable Development will serve as a valuable business tool for its members, notably by allowing them to increase their financial leverage.
Moreover, the sharing of spaces and state-of-the-art equipment will prove very advantageous for the member organizations housed there.
