Mes Aïeux – Ambassadors

We are lucky enough to work in a profession that we love and that allows us to travel around our country singing about our dreams and sharing our vision of the world with hundreds of people. We realize that having this platform is both a great privilege and an enormous responsibility. We also believe that it must serve some useful purpose. By agreeing to become ambassadors for the Centre for Sustainable Development, we have chosen to use the spotlight that shines on us to draw attention to a project offering solutions to social issues close to our heart.

As parents of young children, we are particularly concerned about the issue of climate change. What kind of world are we going to leave to them? We know that all Quebecers are just as worried as we are about the environmental challenges facing us. The problem is that we often feel alone and powerless when confronted with the magnitude of the situation. We are convinced, however, that if we unite our efforts, we will be able to fight these problems head on. The Centre for Sustainable Development is a concrete step in this direction. It will become a vital rallying point, a point of reference. It will be our house of hope. This green building, which will bring together a group of environmental and social actors, will help develop a better understanding of the urgent need for sustainable development in Montreal, Quebec and around the world. We believe passionately in this campaign and we urge you, as citizens and as companies, to support it generously.

So that one day, our children can sing:

“My father had a house built
Built in unison
By seven million masons
My father had a house built
Planted on the horizon
For future generations…”
